Characteristics

Plants solitary or clumping. Leaf linear-oblong, 40–120 × 4–8 mm, green above, red below, margin red, hairy. Flower stem 120–200 mm tall, 1-flowered, stiff, red, hairy. Flowers 25–30 mm across, cream to pale yellow and green with red central stripes; sepals with thick brown clubs 2–4 × 2 mm long; petals with smaller clubs. Dorsal sepal stiffly erect, 15–20 × 2 mm. Lateral sepals obliquely decurved, parallel, 25–30 × 3 mm. Petals spreading to decurved, 15–20 × 1.5 mm. Labellum delicately hinged, 10–12 × 10–12 mm, cream to white with a dark maroon apex and green marginal teeth; basal margins with 4 or 5 pairs of thin, erect comb-teeth to 2 mm long; midlobe margins with 3–6 pairs of short, blunt teeth; tip recurved. Basal calli to 1.5 mm long. Lamina calli to 1 mm long, maroon, in 4 or 6 densely crowded rows onto base of maroon patch. Column incurved, 6–10 × 3–4 mm, transparent with red flecks; basal glands ellipsoid, c. 0.7 mm long, deep yellow.
