Leaf linear-lanceolate, 100–150 × 3–6 mm, densely hairy. Flower stem 50–150 mm tall, thin, wiry, densely hairy, 1–4-flowered. Flowers 45–60 mm across, greyish cream to creamy white, sometimes pinkish; sepals and petals with long, grey to brown filamentous tips which often tangle. Dorsal sepal erect, 35–70 × 2.2.5 mm. Lateral sepals obliquely decurved, 35–70 × 1–2.5 mm. Petals erect to spreading, 30–55 × 2 mm. Labellum 5–8 × 3.5–5 mm, cream; margins with 5–10 pairs of broad, white to purplish teeth; tip recurved. Calli anvil-shaped, 5–10 pairs in 2 rows. Column 5.5–6.5 × 2–2.5 mm, cream with red markings.
Widespread and common; growing in a range of drier habitats from coast to inland areas, including open forest, woodland, shrubland, mallee vegetation and coastal scrub in freely draining sands and loams, often over limestone.
