Characteristics

Leaf 100–160 × 7–10 mm. Flower stem 80–150 mm tall, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 40–50 mm across, pinkish to reddish; sepals and petals with short, thick, dark red glandular tips (no clubs). Dorsal sepal erect, 45–60 × 2.5 mm. Lateral sepals spreading with drooping tips, 45–60 × 3–4 mm, divergent. Petals similarly arranged, 35–45 × 3.5 mm. Labellum 15–18 × 8–10 mm, reddish black, base paler; margins with 7–9 pairs of dark red teeth to 2 mm long; tip extended in a long, tapered, heavily glandular tail. Basal calli 4–6, c. 1.2 mm long, erect. Lamina calli to 1 mm long, dark red, in 4 or 6 irregular rows. Column 11–13 × 5–6 mm, reddish; basal glands c. 1.5 mm long, ovoid, shiny yellow with red basal stalk.
