Characteristics

Leaf 60–100 × 1–1.5 mm. Flower stem 50–120 mm tall, very thin, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers not opening, 6–7 mm long, externally reddish or greenish with brown glands; labellum white with red bars, midlobe yellow, calli pale yellow; column greenish with a few red bars. Tepals thin-textured, almost papery. Dorsal sepal 6–7 × 2–2.5 mm. Lateral sepals 6–7 × 2–3 mm. Petals 6–7 × 2–2.5 mm. Labellum 4.5–6 × 5–6.5 mm; lateral lobes firmly wrapped around column, entire; midlobe triangular; margins entire or slightly irregular. Basal calli 2, c. 0.8 mm long, pale yellow; lamina calli c. 0.6 mm long, in 2 rows nearly to base of midlobe. Column 4.5–5.5 × 2 mm.

Highly localised and apparently restricted to coastal districts; growing in moss pockets in shallow soil on rock plates and among laterite nodules in heath; also in open sites among stands of bracelet honeymyrtle in stunted heathland in sandy soil.
