Characteristics

Leaf 40–100 × 6–10 mm. Flower stem 50–300 mm tall, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 40–50 mm across, musty-scented, cream to greenish, pink to mauve or blood red; sepals and petals with short, relatively thick, dark tips (no clubs). Dorsal sepal erect, 30–40 × 22.5 mm. Lateral sepals spreading to slightly drooping, 30–40 × 3.5–4 mm, divergent. Petals similarly arranged, 25–35 × 1.5–2 mm. Labellum 10–14 × 7–8 mm, often cream to white with red markings; margins with 6–8 pairs of short, reddish purple teeth; tip recurved. Basal calli 4–6, c. 1.3 mm long, erect. Lamina calli to 1.3 mm long, reddish purple, in 4 or 6 rows onto midlobe. Column 11–13 × 5 mm, transparent with reddish markings; basal glands c. 1.2 mm long, club-shaped, yellow.
