Characteristics

Leaf 40–90 × 3–7 mm. Flower stem sturdy, 50–160 mm tall, 1-flowered. Flowers 60–90 mm across, pale yellow to red with darker red lines; sepals and petals with relatively thick, dark brown to black glandular tips (no clubs). Dorsal sepal erect, 40–60 × 3–3.5 mm. Lateral sepals stiffly spreading to drooping, 40–60 × 4–5 mm, divergent. Petals similarly arranged, 35–55 × 3–4 mm. Labellum 13–20 × 7–11 mm, maroon, base sometimes whitish; margins with numerous thick, dark reddish purple teeth to 2 mm long; tip recurved. Basal calli 4–6, c. 1.5 mm long, erect. Lamina calli to 1.5 mm long, dark reddish purple, in 4 or 6 rows, central rows extending well onto midlobe. Column 12–14 × 5.5–6.5 mm, translucent with reddish markings; basal glands c. 1.3 mm long, ovoid, yellow.
