Characteristics

Leaf linear lanceolate, 60–110 × 5–8 mm. Flower stem 100–250 mm tall, wiry, 1-flowered. Flowers 30–40 mm across, smell like hot metal, greenish cream to yellowish cream with red lines and streaks; labellum cream with prominent red veins and a maroon apex; calli dark red; column translucent with red markings; sepals with large, thick, dark red to blackish clubs 6–10 × 1 mm; petals lacking clubs. Dorsal sepal erect, 30–40 × 2–3 mm. Lateral sepals stiffly decurved, 35–45 × 4–5 mm, divergent. Petals spreading to stiffly decurved, 25–30 × 2–3 mm. Labellum stiffly hinged, 13–15 × 8–9 mm; margins with 12–18 pairs of purplish red teeth to 3 mm long; tip recurved. Basal calli 8–10, c. 1 mm long, often yellowish. Lamina calli to 1.5 mm long, in 4 rows to base of midlobe. Column 12–14 × 4–5 mm, broadly winged; basal glands c. 1 mm long, obovoid, yellow with a red base.
