Characteristics

Leaf linear, 100–180 × 4–7 mm, sparsely hairy. Flower stem 300–450 mm tall, thin, wiry, 1–4-flowered. Flowers 60–80 mm across, usually dark red, sometimes pale red with whitish margins or creamy white; sepals and petals with long, dark, filamentous tips. Dorsal sepal erect, incurved, 50–70 × 2.5–3 mm. Lateral sepals spreading or decurved with drooping tips, 50–70 × 2.5–3 mm. Petals obliquely erect to spreading, with drooping tips, 40–60 × 2 mm. Labellum 5.5–8 × 3.5–5 mm, usually red, occasionally whitish; margins with numerous short, broad teeth; tip recurved. Calli anvil-shaped, red or pinkish, 10–16 pairs in 2 crowded rows. Column 8–8.5 × 4–4.5 mm, cream to reddish, densely glandular-hairy.
