Characteristics

Leaf lanceolate, 80–220 × 6–14 mm. Flower stem 150–350 mm tall, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 50–100 mm across, opening cream to yellowish, ageing to white (sometimes remaining yellowish); sepals and petals with dark red, glandular tips (sometimes relatively thick and resembling clubs 7–10 mm long). Dorsal sepal erect, 40–80 × 3–4 mm. Lateral sepals drooping or stiffly spreading with drooping tips, 40–80 × 4–6 mm, widely divergent. Petals similarly arranged, 30–55 × 3–4 mm. Labellum 13–18 × 7–11 mm, white to cream; margins with 5–8 pairs of thin, reddish, white-tipped marginal teeth to 2 mm long; tip recurved. Basal calli 4–6, c. 1.3 mm long, erect. Lamina calli to 1.3 mm long, purplish, in 4 or 6 rows well onto midlobe. Column 12–14 × 5–7 mm, translucent with a few red markings; basal glands c. 1.2 mm long, obovoid, yellow with red hairs.
