Characteristics

Leaf lanceolate, 50–120 × 6–8 mm, sparsely hairy. Flower stem 120–250 mm tall, hairy, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 40–80 mm across, greenish white to creamy white or pale yellow, with red stripes and stains (sometimes uniformly red); sepals and petals with long, thin, blackish, thread-like, glandular tips (no clubs). Dorsal sepal erect, 60–80 × 3.5–4.5 mm. Lateral sepals obliquely deflexed, filamentous tips drooping, 60–80 × 6–7 mm, widely divergent. Petals similarly arranged, 50–60 × 4–4.5 mm. Labellum 15–18 × 10–12 mm, red or yellowish; margins with numerous, pale-tipped, red teeth to 2.5 mm long; tip recurved. Basal calli 4, c. 2 mm long, erect. Lamina calli to 2.3 mm long, red, in 4 or 6 rows extending nearly to apex. Column 10–12 × 4–4.5 mm, greenish with red markings; basal glands c. 1.2 mm long, shiny yellow.
