Leaf linear, 100–180 × 4–6 mm, sparsely hairy (appearing glabrous), bright green. Flower stem 150–350 mm tall, slender, shortly hairy, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers short-lived (one to few days), 30–50 mm across, pale green to greenish white with red suffusions and markings; sepals with thick, dark brown clubs 3–5 × 1 mm; petals without clubs or with a small glandular thickening. Dorsal sepal erect, 22–35 × 2–3 mm. Lateral sepals obliquely decurved, 22–35 × 3–5 mm, often crossed. Petals widely spreading to upswept, 18–25 × 1.5–2.5 mm. Labellum stiffly hinged, 10–14 × 14–18 mm, curved, green with a maroon apex; margins with several thin, erect comb-teeth to 7 mm long; tip decurved. Basal calli c. 3.5 mm long. Lamina calli to 2 mm long, maroon in 2 or 4 rows onto base of maroon patch. Column 10–12 × 4–5 mm, transparent with red markings; basal glands c. 1 mm long, round, yellow.
Locally common; often found growing in deep sand under coastal mallee, in tall shrubland or under sheoaks, around granite outcrops in freely draining sands and gravels; less commonly in shallow soil on granite outcrops or in moist soil on margins of winter-wet flats.
