Characteristics

Leaf 50–100 × 5–10 mm. Flower stem 150–260 mm tall, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 40–60 mm across, smell like hot metal or burnt plastic, greenish to pale tawny yellow, sometimes suffused with light brown, to reddish; sepals and petals with thin, brown or reddish, glandular tips (no clubs). Dorsal sepal erect, 40–55 × 2.5–3 mm. Lateral sepals drooping, 40–55 × 3–4 mm, divergent. Petals drooping, 30–40 × 2.5–3–3 mm. Labellum 13–17 × 7–9 mm, cream to red, often with darker veins; margins with numerous reddish or purplish teeth to 2 mm long; tip recurved. Basal calli 6–8, c. 1 mm long. Lamina calli to 1 mm long, cream, yellowish or purplish, sparse in 4 or 6 rows to labellum bend; margins with numerous slender, red teeth. Column 10–12 × 3–4 mm, translucent with red markings; basal glands c. 1 mm long, ovoid, yellow with red hairs.
