Caladenia hiemalis Hopper & A.P.Br.

Plants often in tufts. Leaf 40–120 × 3 mm. Flower stem 150–300 mm tall, 1–3-flowered. Flowers 60–80 mm across, cream with pale red markings; sepals and petals with long, dark, filamentous tips. Dorsal sepal erect, 40–65 × 2 mm. Lateral sepals stiffly decurved, 40–65 × 2–3 mm. Petals horizontal, 35–60 × 2 mm. Labellum 8–10 × 5–8 mm, cream with red radiating lines breaking up into spots and blotches; margins with short teeth; tip recurved. Calli anvil-shaped, cream with reddish markings, 6–12 pairs in 2 rows. Column 8–10 × 3–4 mm, reddish.

Widespread and common; growing in winter-wet areas in Eucalyptus wandoo woodland and among sheoaks; less commonly on granite outcrops.
