Characteristics

Leaf 80–180 × 8–12 mm. Flower stem 200–600 mm tall, 1-flowered. Flowers 50–70 mm across, smell like burnt plastic, greenish to cream or pale yellow with dark reddish central stripes; sepals with relatively thick, dark red to blackish, club-like tips 15–20 × 1 mm; petals with slender, tail-like tips. Dorsal sepal erect, 45–65 × 3.5–4 mm. Lateral sepals stiffly spreading, 45–65 × 3.5–4 mm, widely divergent. Petals slightly drooping, 35–45 × 3 mm. Labellum 16–19 × 10–12 mm, maroon; margins with 8–10 pairs of red teeth to 1.5 mm long; tip recurved. Basal calli 6–8, c. 2 mm long, erect. Lamina calli to 1.5 mm long, in 4 moderately crowded rows. Column 12–14 × 5–5.5 mm, transparent with reddish markings; basal glands c. 1.4 mm long, globose, shiny yellow.
