Characteristics

Leaf linear-lanceolate, 100–250 × 10–14 mm, densely hairy. Flower stem 300–500 mm long, sturdy, densely hairy, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 70–90 mm across, reclining, greenish yellow with red central stripes and markings; sepals with thin, brown clubs 6–12 mm long; petals lacking clubs. Dorsal sepal erect, 55–80 × 3–5 mm. Lateral sepals decurved then upswept in front of labellum, 55–80 × 6–7.5 mm, closely parallel or crossing. Petals swept backwards or downcurved, 50–60 × 3–3.5 mm. Labellum delicately hinged, 20–25 × 30–35 mm, greenish yellow to yellow with a red apex, balanced more or less horizontally; margins spreading to decurved, with numerous erect to spreading comb-teeth to 12 mm long; tip recurved. Basal calli c. 3.5 mm long, slender. Lamina calli to 3 mm long, slender, yellow with red tips, in 6 or 8 uncrowded rows halfway onto labellum, forming a sparse central cluster. Column 15–17 × 7–9 mm, translucent with red markings; basal glands c. 5 mm long, linear, yellow.
