Leaf linear-lanceolate, 50–150 × 6–12 mm, densely hairy. Flower stem 140–250 mm tall, slender, wiry, hairy, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 50–70 mm across, greenish yellow with red central stripes and markings; sepals with thin, brown clubs 8–12 × 0.5 mm; petals lacking clubs. Dorsal sepal erect, 40–50 × 2–3 mm. Lateral sepals decurved near base then upswept, 35–50 × 3–4 mm, divergent. Petals spreading to decurved, 25–35 × 2–3 mm. Labellum delicately hinged, 15–18 × 15–18 mm, pale greenish with a white central area and maroon apex; central margins with several spreading, thin, green comb-teeth to 8 mm long; midlobe margins with numerous short, blunt teeth; tip recurved. Basal calli c. 5 mm long, slender, papillate. Lamina calli to 3 mm long, slender, in 4 or 6 rows, maroon-tipped, densely crowded in central band c. halfway to labellum apex. Column 12–14 × 5–6 mm, transparent with red flecks; basal glands c. 2.5 mm long, slender, yellow with a red stalk.
Rarely seen, reported as single plants in a few widely scattered localities; found growing near streams and gullies in mallee woodland and sheoak thickets, in freely draining sands and loam.
