Caladenia luteola Hopper & A.P.Br.

Plants solitary or in tufts. Leaf 80–200 × 3–5 mm. Flower stem 150–300 mm tall, 1–3-flowered. Flowers 70–100 mm across, cream to bright lemon yellow with red stripes and markings; sepals and petals with long, brown, filamentous tips. Dorsal sepal erect, 45–70 × 2–3 mm. Lateral sepals spreading stiffly then decurved, 45–75 × 2.5–5 mm. Petals obliquely erect then decurved, 45–65 × 2.5–3.5 mm. Labellum 10–20 × 8–11 mm, cream to yellow with red or brown apical markings; margins with numerous short, broad teeth; tip recurved. Calli anvil-shaped, cream, glistening, 6–11 pairs in 2 rows. Column 12–14 × 4–6 mm, yellow.

Known from just three populations; found growing among shrubs and forbs under wattles, sheoaks and eucalypts in freely draining sand and gravel.
