Characteristics

Leaf 100–150 × 15–20 mm. Flower stem 200–300 mm tall, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 70–100 mm across, mostly reddish crimson with yellowish suffusions; sepals and petals with long, thin, reddish, glandular tips (no clubs). Dorsal sepal erect, 70–100 × 3–4 mm. Lateral sepals spreading to drooping, 70–100 × 4–5.5 mm, divergent. Petals arranged similarly, 60–80 × 2.5–3.5 mm. Labellum 18–22 × 16–20 mm, dark reddish purple, base paler; margins with numerous purplish teeth to 4 mm long; tip recoiled. Calli to 2 mm long, reddish purple, in 4 or 6 rows. Column reddish.
