Leaf withered at flowering; lanceolate when fresh, 60–150 × 6–8 mm. Flower stem 100–200 mm tall, wiry, 1-flowered. Flowers 30–35 mm across, yellowish green with prominent, dark red central bands; sepals and petals with light yellowish brown clubs 5–20 × 2.5 mm. Dorsal sepal erect, 35–60 × 1.5–2.5 mm, incurved. Lateral sepals falcate, obliquely deflexed to nearly drooping, 35–60 × 2–4 mm, parallel to divergent. Petals similarly arranged, 25–40 × 1–2 mm. Labellum delicately hinged, 13–18 × 14–18 mm, green to yellowish green with a white patch and dark maroon apex; basal margins with 4 or 5 pairs of thin, erect comb-teeth to 5 mm long; midlobe margins with 6–8 pairs of blunt teeth to apex; tip recurved. Basal calli c. 3 mm long. Lamina calli to 1.5 mm long, maroon, in 4 crowded rows onto base of maroon patch. Column incurved, 14–16 × 4.5–5 mm, transparent with pink streaks; basal glands, c. 2 mm long, ellipsoid, shiny, yellow, stalkless.
Highly localised; growing in open forest, heathy forest, and coastal scrub in freely draining, grey or yellow sand over limestone.
