Characteristics

Plants single or in dense tufts. Leaf 100–150 × 3–4 mm. Flower stem 150–300 mm tall, 1–3-flowered. Flowers 50–70 mm across, with a strong, foetid smell, pale pinkish red, base of tepals often whitish; sepals and petals with long, reddish, filamentous tips. Dorsal sepal erect, 40–60 × 2–2.5 mm. Lateral sepals horizontal then decurved to hanging, 40–60 × 2.5–3 mm. Petals similarly arranged, 35–50 × 2–2.5 mm. Labellum 8–12 × 6–9 mm, creamy white with reddish lines and markings; margins with short, curved, bluntly pointed teeth; tip recurved. Calli anvil-shaped, cream to pinkish or with pink tips, 8–18 pairs in 2 rows. Column 9–11 × 4–5 mm, cream with red markings.
