Leaf 50–120 × 4–5 mm. Flower stem 80–200 mm tall, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 10–20 mm across, greenish cream with pale red stripes and markings; sepals and petals with short, blunt tips. Dorsal sepal incurved close to column, 10–15 × 1.5–3 mm. Lateral sepals stiffly decurved (but not held against ovary), 8–15 × 1.5–4 mm. Petals similarly arranged, 8–15 × 1–2 mm. Labellum obliquely erect, projected out like a landing platform, 8–12 × 7–10 mm, greenish cream with faint pale stripes; margins entire, recurved; apex with a prominent, thick, red, V-shaped glandular mass. Calli clubbed, dark purplish red, to 1 mm long in 2 densely crowded rows. Column 8–10 × 4–6 mm, pinkish with red markings.
Widely distributed and common, particularly in inland areas; growing in or close to shrubs in mallee vegetation, on granite rocks, and in sandplain heath in freely draining sands, clay loams, and laterite.
