Characteristics

Leaf 60–70 × 10–15 mm, densely hairy. Flower stem 100–150 mm tall, sturdy, 1-flowered. Flowers 50–60 mm across, white, sometimes with pink external markings; sepals with thick, green or brownish clubs c.5 mm long (clubs absent on one flower in plate 257, Nicholls 1969); petals lacking clubs. Dorsal sepal incurved, 30–40 × 2–3 mm. Lateral sepals stiffly spreading, 30–40 × 3–4 mm, widely divergent. Petals similarly arranged, 20–30 × 2–2.5 mm. Labellum c. 17 × 8 mm, white with pink streaks; margins entire or with a few short teeth (less than 1 mm long); tip recurved. Calli pinkish, well spaced in 4 or 6 rows to base of midlobe.
