Characteristics

Plants single or often in tufts. Leaf linear, 50–180 × 5–7 mm. Flower stem 150–350 mm tall, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 40–80 mm across, greenish cream to creamy yellow with thin red stripes; sepals and petals with fairly long, brown, moderately thick tails. Dorsal sepal recurved and drooping, 25–45 × 2 mm. Lateral sepals spreading then downcurved to drooping, 25–45 × 3 mm. Petals similarly arranged, 25–45 × 2 mm. Labellum 12–15 × 8–10 mm, cream with bold, red, radiating lines and suffusions; margins entire or with a few short teeth; tip maroon, recurved. Calli slender, clubbed, white to cream or red, arranged in 4 or 6 longitudinal rows in two bands, each row with 10–15 pairs of calli. Column 9–11 × 3–4 mm, transparent with red markings; basal glands absent.
