Characteristics

Leaf 150–300 × 8–15 mm. Flower stem 300–800 mm tall, 1–4-flowered. Flowers very large, 100–220 mm across, with a strong, sweet scent, white to pale yellowish, externally with reddish lines; sepals and petals with very long, brownish, thread-like tips (no clubs). Dorsal sepal erect, 95–165 × 3–11 mm. Lateral sepals decurved to pendulous, 105–190 × 8–11 mm, divergent. Petals similarly arranged, 85–135 × 4–6 mm. Labellum 30–35 × 15–22 mm, white to cream; margins with numerous erect, thin, red-or white-tipped, apically clubbed teeth to 14 mm long; tip recurved. Calli to 3 mm long, white with red markings, in 4, 6 or 8 rows nearly to labellum apex. Column 18–24 × 10–13 mm, greenish yellow with maroon markings.
