Characteristics

Leaf linear-lanceolate, 50–110 × 4–6 mm. Flower stem 150–220 mm tall, 1-flowered. Flower 30–50 mm across, with a smell like hot metal, greenish to cream; sepals with short, thick, dark red clubs 6–9 × 0.8 mm; petals lacking clubs. Dorsal sepal erect, 25–35 × 2–2.5 mm. Lateral sepals stiffly and obliquely decurved to drooping, 25–35 × 4–4.5 mm, divergent. Petals similarly arranged, 25–30 × 2 mm. Labellum stiffly hinged, 13–15 × 8–9 mm, base whitish, apex maroon; margins with numerous maroon teeth to 1 mm long; tip recurved. Calli to 1 mm long, maroon, in 4 rows. Column 10–12 × 4–4.5 mm, translucent; basal glands c. 1 mm long, shiny yellow-red stalk.
