Characteristics

Leaf lanceolate, 80–150 × 12–20 mm, with prominent short, white, silky hairs. Flower stem 150–500 mm tall, sturdy, densely hairy, 1–3-flowered. Flowers reclining, 60–100 mm across, green with red central stripes; sepals with brown or yellowish brown clubs 7–12 × 1 mm; petals lacking clubs. Dorsal sepal incurved, 60–80 × 2.5–4 mm, apex becoming lax. Lateral sepals stiffly curved down at base then upswept, tips often swept forwards or obliquely erect, becoming lax with age, 60–80 x 4–5mm, nearly parallel. Petals stiffly decurved, 60–70 × 2–3 mm. Labellum very delicately hinged, 16–20 × 20–25 mm, green with white central patch and maroon apex; basal margins with 5–8 pairs of thin, green comb-teeth to 10 mm long; midlobe margins with numerous short, blunt teeth; tip recurved. Basal calli c. 5 mm long. Lamina calli to 2 mm long, slender, reddish black, clubbed, in 4 uncrowded rows onto base of maroon patch. Column incurved, 17–20 × 4–5.5 mm, greenish with red markings; basal glands c. 4 mm long, narrowly club-shaped, shortly stalked, yellow, shiny.
