Characteristics

Leaf linear, 50–160 × 3–6 mm. Flower stem 120–200 mm long, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 50–80 mm across, pale yellow to pale creamy yellow with prominent red stripes; lateral sepals and petals with long, red-black, densely glandular, filamentous tips. Dorsal sepal erect, 40–70 × 1.5–2 mm. Lateral sepals spreading near base then pendulous, 40–70 × 1.5–2 mm. Petals spreading near base then downcurved, 40–70 × 1.5–2 mm. Labellum stiffly hinged, 7–10 × 5–8 mm, white with prominent red stripes and markings; margins with numerous short, white and red, blunt teeth; tip recurved. Calli anvil-shaped, to 1 mm long, dull, creamy yellow with red markings, in 2 rows. Column 6–7 × 2 mm, cream with red markings.
