Characteristics

Leaf lanceolate, 50–100 × 6–8 mm, sparsely hairy. Flower stem 150–250 mm tall, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 50–60 mm across, scented, whitish, pale pink, bright pink or purplish; sepals and petals with moderately thick, brownish or blackish, glandular tips (no clubs). Dorsal sepal erect, 40–60 × 2–3 mm, incurved. Lateral sepals stiffly spreading to obliquely deflexed, 40–60 × 3–4.5 mm, widely divergent. Petals similarly arranged, 30–37 × 2.5–3 mm. Labellum 12–16 × 7–9 mm, cream or white with a pink or purplish apex; margins with numerous short, thick, pink to purplish teeth to 3 mm long; tip recurved. Basal calli 2–4, c. 1.5 mm long, erect. Lamina calli to 1 mm long, pink to purplish, in 4 or 6 rows, central rows extending well onto midlobe. Column 11–13 × 5 mm, transparent heavily marked with red; basal glands c. 0.9 mm long, linear, yellow.
