Characteristics

Leaf 60–150 × 10–13 mm. Flower stem 200–350 mm tall, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 35–40 mm across, with a strong, musky scent, cream to greenish yellow; sepals with prominent thick, blackish tips (sometimes thickened into a narrow club); petals lacking clubs. Dorsal sepal erect, 30–40 × 3–5 mm. Lateral sepals obliquely deflexed to drooping, 30–40 × 3–3.5 mm, nearly parallel. Petals similarly arranged, 25–30 × 2–2.5 mm. Labellum 16–18 × 8.5–9.5 mm, cream with a red apex; margins with 7 or 8 pairs of dark red teeth to 2.2 mm long. Basal calli 4–6, c. 1.5 mm long. Lamina calli to 1.2 mm long, dark red, in 4 or 6 rows nearly to labellum apex; tip recurved. Column 11–12 × 4.5–5 mm, translucent with red markings; basal glands c. 1.5 mm long, club-shaped, shiny yellow.
