Calamophyllum teretifolium (Haw.) Schwantes

Species

Angiosperms > Caryophyllales > Aizoaceae > Ruschioideae > Calamophyllum

Characteristics

Flores primo terminales solitarii magni, in ramis procumbentibus crassis sub-dodrantalibus. Pedunculi biunciales flexi teretiusculi superne vel infra medium bibracteati. Bractieae foliiformes. Calyx quadrifidus laciniis crassis inaequalibus foliiformibus, duabus minoribus alte membranaceis. Corolla formosa laciniis numerosis imbricatis latiusculis, saepe emarginatis, saturate rubicundis, basi albis. Filamenta pallida. Antherae saepe purpurascentes. Germen viride. Styli circiter duodecim albi, in senecto flore recurvatim stellati, sublanceolati cuspidati. OBS. This and the two last may perhaps not be specifically distinct. The leaves of teretiusculum are the shortest; those of cylindricum are thicker and more glaucous, and less cylindric than in teretifolium, which last has also by far the longest and smoothest stems.
