Characteristics

Turf-forming perennial or annual. Stems creeping and rooting at the flowering nodes, distinctly flattened and 2-winged. Leaves: petioles up to ± 2 mm long, 1-veined; blades elliptic or spatulate, (4-)6-10 mm long, (1-)1.5-3.5 mm wide, 1 central vein and 2 secondary veins originating from near the base of the blade. Bracteoles probably absent. Styles ± 0.1 mm long, persisting in fruit. Stamens: filaments up to ± 0.2 mm long; anthers ± 0.1-0.15 mm long. Fruit somewhat wider than high, 0.6-7.5(-8) mm, borne on peduncles 0.1-0.2 mm long; mericarps ± parallel, without wings.
