Characteristics

Small epiphytic herbs with short stems; roots branching, clustered in lower part of the stem. Leaves distichous, arcuate-spreading, linear, unequally roundly or obtusely bilobed at the apex, conduplicate or twisted at the base to lie in one plane, articulated at base to persistent imbricate leaf-bases. Inflorescences one–several, shorter than the leaves, 1(–2)-flowered; peduncle slender, terete, elongate, bearing 2 sterile sheathing bracts along length. Flowers green to ochre-orange, non-resupinate, scabrid on outer surface. Sepals and petals subsimilar; lateral sepals fused at their oblique bases to enclose base of spur. Lip obscurely 3-lobed, concave, ecallose, spurred at the base. Column short, fleshy; rostellum narrow, bifid, dilated and scutelliform at apex; pollinia 2, subglobose; stipes solitary, linear; viscidium small, reniform.
