Characteristics

Stems prostrate, to 35 cm long. Leaves 35–70 mm long, 4.5–7 mm wide, glaucous, often red-tinged; adaxial surface flat, lateral surfaces flat or convex; keel smooth or upper portion barely crenulate. Flowers 16–19 mm diam.; pedicels 3–7 mm long. Petal-like staminodes purple, white at base, streaked only near midline when dry; stamens 20–100, 1–3-seriate. Styles 6–10, fused at base; ovary oblong, barely compressed, flat on top with a prominent transverse ridge.
