Cultivation

Origin: in Carlsbad, Calif., by Fred Ramsey. Introd. about 1932. Parentage unknown; wooly leaf white sapote (Casimiroa tetrameria). Tree: Fruit: large; flesh dark yellow, strong aromatic flavor; tends to have few seed; superior to fruit of other varieties of this species. No longer being planted commercially.
