Characteristics

Twining shrubs, 1-2 m tall; branchlets terete; young branchlets green, lenticels usually absent. Petiole 5-11 mm; leaf blade lanceolate, 5-13 × 2-4 cm, thinly papery to coriaceous, base cuneate, margin serrulate, apex acuminate; secondary veins 7-9 pairs, prominent. Thyrses terminal, elongate; peduncle very short, less than 5 mm. Flowers 5-merous, white to pea green, ca. 5 mm wide. Disk slightly orbicular, lobe triangular. Ovary 3-loculed; ovules 2 per locule; style columnar; stigma 3-lobed. Capsule ovate to slightly globose.
