Spike 15–18 cm. long, many-flowered, dense save at base; peduncle 1.5–2.5 cm. long; pedicels obsolete; bracts ovate-lanceolate, 6 mm. long, 2 mm. wide, long-acuminate.. Calyx narrowly tubular, ± 1.5 cm. long, 5-ribbed and plicate, with scattered but conspicuous long white setae 1–2 mm. long; teeth unequal, 0.2–1.7 mm. long..
