Characteristics

Leaves 50–80 × 20–25 mm. Flower stem 20–40 mm long. Flower stiffly and obliquely erect, 16–19 × 25–30 mm, green, greenish purple to dark purplish brown; with shiny greenish, reddish or black labellum calli. Dorsal sepal spathulate, 16–19 × 8–11 mm; apical club c. 1 mm long. Lateral sepals projecting forwards beneath labellum, 13–16 × 2 mm; apical clubs c. 1 mm long. Petals widely divergent, 12–16 × 4.5 mm. Labellum obliquely erect, ovate to heart-shaped, 8–11 × 7–10 mm, margins paler, with irregular darker veins. Calli short, basal glands and distal gland with swollen heads, some irregular low ridges and markings that resemble writing. Column 12–15 × 5–6 mm.
