Leaves 25–60 × 10–20 mm, margins wavy to crinkled. Flower stem 70–100 mm long. Flower 20–25 × 5–6 mm, pinkish green with prominent yellowish sepal clubs; calli blackish red; column pale green with purple flecks. Dorsal sepal spathulate, incurved, 15–18 × 2.5 mm; apical club 4–9 mm long. Lateral sepals decurved beneath labellum, 16–21 × 0.5–0.7 mm, divergent; apical clubs 10–14 mm long. Petals reflexed against ovary, 7–8 × 2.3 mm. Labellum obliquely erect, diamond-shaped, 7–8 × 4–5 mm, with a long, often recurved tip. Callus covering most of labellum, major stalked gland projecting above all others. Column 5–6 × 2–2.5 mm.
Locally common in small colonies on montane ridges, peaks, sheltered slopes and gullies. Found growing in tall forest, rainforest margins and under sheoaks in freely draining, grey, gravelly loam and clay loam; also in stunted montane heath on the summit of Mt Bartle Frere.
