Leaves 30–70 × 12–15 mm. Flower stem 120–170 mm long. Flower 20–22 × 5–7 mm, green to greenish pink; calli black; column green with reddish transverse marks. Dorsal sepal narrowly spathulate, 12–18 × 3–3.5 mm; apical club 2 mm long, swollen. Lateral sepals recurved sharply beneath labellum, 12–15 × 1 mm, divergent; apical clubs 2 mm long, usually red to brown, swollen. Petals recurved behind labellum, 10–12 × 2–3 mm. Labellum erect at base then horizontal, spade-or shovel-shaped, 5–6 × 5–7 mm, margins recurved, apex recurved. Callus short, resembling a small black ant, restricted to basal part of labellum. Column 7–9 × 3 mm.
Highly localised; growing among grass and shrubs in open forest and on rainforest margins in freely draining, grey to brown, gravelly loam; also among low heathy shrubs on some peaks.
