Characteristics

Leaves broadly elliptic to ovate, 30–60 × 18–25 mm. Flower stem 50–80 mm tall, pinkish or brown. Flower stiffly erect, 14–18 × 20–30 mm, greenish bronze or purplish brown; calli blackish, shiny; column reddish, sometimes speckled. Dorsal sepal broadly spathulate, 12–15 × 4–6 mm; apical club c. 0.5 mm long. Lateral sepals spreading below labellum, widely divergent, 12–15 × 2–2.5 mm; apical clubs 1–2 mm long. Petals widely spreading, sometimes downcurved, 12–15 × 3–4 mm. Labellum erect, obliquely erect or horizontal, elliptic to ovate, 10–14 × 7–9 mm, margins with pale band, often irregular. Callus resembling a small ant with a large, head-like, stalked gland near base. Column 9–10 × 4–4.5 mm.
