Characteristics

Shrub or small tree to 5 m high. Stipules linear-subulate, 0.8–3.5 mm long. Leaves: petiole 10–35 mm long; lamina elliptic to obovate, 85–180 mm long, 35–75 mm wide; base cuneate to retuse; margins crenulate with 11–19 short teeth; tips acuminate, acute or obtuse. Inflorescence up to 100 mm long. Male flowers 2–3 mm long, 3–5 mm diam.; pedicels 1–2.2 mm long; sepals ovate, 1.8–3.5 mm long; stamens numerous. Female flowers 20–30 mm long, 10–20 mm diam.; pedicels 35–110 mm long; sepals lanceolate-ovate, 2–2.5 mm long; ovary 2-locular, 2–3 mm long, 2–5 mm diam.; styles 8–27 mm long. Fruits bilocular, 12–17 mm long, 22–24 mm wide.
