Calyx 17–21 mm long; tube obconical, slightly constricted above the ovary, sparsely hairy; lobes 4–6 mm wide at the base, erect, lanceolate, very attenuate to nearly filiform at the apex, sparsely hairy, ciliate with a few short cilia, nerves slightly raised.
Older stems erect, obscurely 4-angled, without leaves, glabrous with bark white, transversally fissured and somewhat lenticellate; old petiole-bases persistent and spine-like up to 8 mm long, patent, straight, also with white bark.
Branchlets leafy, 4–25 cm long, erect or spreading, slender, brownish, sparsely pubescent with short whitish antrorse hairs, sparser towards the base; internodes shorter than the leaves.
Corolla white; tube 4.5–5.5 cm long, slender, somewhat densely glandular hairy; head of buds ellipsoid, densely glandular hairy.
Inflorescences terminal on the branchlets, subcapitate, few–many-flowered, surrounded by the uppermost leaves.
A suffrutex with stout stems to c. 1 m tall.
