Characteristics

Solitary or slowly branching; Leaves body obcon-ical, apex flat or slightly depressed, circular in section, rich saturated green to deep maroon, glossy, densely but finely spotted, to 10 mm diameter, to 11 mm tall; Flowers appearing in early autumn, sepals pale tan (4), petals light purple (RHS 77C) on outer margins, going to white on the inner parts and to dark purple-red (RHS 71A) in the centre of the flower; purple tube, few; Fruit pale tan, shallow, 4 locules, seeds pale brown 0.45 x 0.65 mm.
