Characteristics

Clusters up to 80 mm diam. Leaf-pairs succulent, up to 25 mm long, 10 mm diam., cylindrical, apex convex to slightly bilobate, windowed. Epidermis purplish brown to bright chartreuse, often with a mottled pattern of opaque brownish `islands' or smudges, sometimes with wart-like groups of prominent cells. Flowers diurnal, long-tubed, petals magenta, basally white, filaments forming a yellow to cinnabar ring, stigmas hidden.
