Characteristics

Clusters up to 200 mm diam. Leaf-pairs succulent, up to 25 mm long, 30 mm diam., top-shaped to cordate, apex usually truncate, sometimes concave or ± bilobed, irregularly round to ± kidney-shaped in section. Epidermis pale white-green, glaucous, reddish, or dull grey, usually spotted, splattered, and lined with green, dark red or purple, markings often prominent, shining as if enamelled. Flowers nocturnal, single or in delayed cymes of 3, strongly scented, petals white, pale yellow, amber, pink or rich smoky magenta, often with red tips.
