Characteristics

Climbing subsucculent herb; stems glabrous, glaucous.. Leaf-blade broadly reniform-cordate in outline, scabrid-punctate, apiculate, 20–54 mm. long, 45–68 mm. broad, palmately 3-lobed; lobes ovate-triangular, not narrowed below, to oblanceolate-elliptic, narrowed below, and sometimes ± lobulate; petiole sparsely scabrid, glaucous, 15–31 mm. long.. Male flowers 2–10 subcapitate in 1–2 mm. long racemes apical on somewhat upwards-expanded 14–50 mm. long peduncles; pedicels 0.5–1 mm. long; receptacle-tube 1.5–2 mm. long; lobes triangular, 1.5 mm. long; petals 2.5 mm. long; disk free from sides of tube.. Female flowers in shortly racemose 2–11-flowered groups, often coaxillary with ♂; pedicels 1–5 mm. long; ovary fusiform, 3.5–4.5 mm. long, 1–2.5 mm. across; receptacle-tube 1.5–2 mm. long; lobes triangular, 1–1.5 mm. long; petals 2.5 mm. long; disk obscure..
