Capitula 1–10 in congested to lax terminal corymbs, discoid; stalks of the individual capitula pubescent; involucre cylindrical, 6.5–12 mm long, 2.5–5 mm in diameter; bracts of calyculus 7–16, lanceolate, 1.5–5 mm long, glabrous or ciliate, dark-tipped; phyllaries 13–21, usually 13, green, 6–11 mm long, glabrous or sparsely pubescent..
