Shrub or tree 0.2–18(30) m tall, sometimes suffrutcose but then branched above or at least with several often clustered lateral inflorescences, and with stems apparently persisting for at least two seasons; bark grey to brown.
Leaves with rachis 1.5–9.5 cm long; leaflets in 2–11 pairs, 0.5–7 × 0.15–3.3cm, ± asymmetrically oblong to elliptic, emarginate or rounded to subacute at apex, asymmetric at base, glabrous to hairy.
Racemes terminal or lateral, solitary or clustered up to 3 together, 2–10 cm long, glabrous to pubescent.
Flowers white or pale pink, sweetly scented.
Sepals 1–4, up to 2 mm long, triangular.
Bracteoles 5–8 × 3–6 mm, elliptic.
Petals 1(2), 5–10 mm long.
Seeds 1.3–1.5 × 0.8–1 cm.
