Cryptostegia grandiflora Roxb. ex R.Br.

Vine. Leaves with petiole 7–21 mm long; lamina elliptic, to 10 cm long, to 4.6 cm wide, cuneate at base, acute; secondary veins 11–13 each side of midrib. Inflorescence of 1 or 2 fascicles. Flowers c. 6 cm long, 5–8.8 cm diam.; pedicels 7–8 mm long. Corolla pale pink to white; tube 27–45 mm long, 16–17 mm diam.; lobes lanceolate-ovate, 25–40 mm long, 13–22 mm wide. Corolline corona of 5 bilobed filaments in throat of corolla tube. Anthers 4–4.5 mm long, 3–3.5 mm wide. Follicles 11–12 cm long, 2–3.5 cm wide.

Growing into the canopy of riverine forests, it is also found as a sprawling shrub along gullies, creeks, as well as disturbed areas such as roadside ditches where run-off water accumulates, around waterholes and at the edge of coastal salt marshes

Can be grown by cuttings or seedlings. Seeds needs soaking.
