Corolla white or pink; tube 8–18 mm. long, curved, somewhat gibbous above middle, glandular without; limb 6–16 mm. in diam.
Erect annual herb 20–80 cm. tall; stems simple to much branched; branches usually opposite, ascending.
Capsule 7–14 mm. long including beak, winged and dehiscent along upper suture only.
Bracteoles 2.5–8 mm. long, subulate to linear, adnate to base of calyx tube.
Leaves 10–70 cm. long, bi-or pinnatisect; segments 0.5–1.5(2) mm. wide.
Filaments of shorter stamens 2–3 mm. long, of longer 3–7 mm. long.
Ovary 1–2 mm. long and broad, subspherical laterally compressed.
Style 4–6 mm. long including compressed stigma.
Inflorescence spicate or racemose.
Anthers 1.5–2 mm. long.
Pedicels 0–2 mm. long.
